Plus Ultra has decided to temporarily reduce from five to two the weekly frequencies of its connection between Madrid and Buenos Aires (Argentina) between October 19 and December 13, citing operational reasons linked to the works being carried out at Ezeiza International Airport, as confirmed by the airline to Europa Press.
The works in Ezeiza began in August and will last until the end of the year, although, as reported by the local press, the period of greatest operational impact will be concentrated between October 25 and November 11, due to the limitation of the main runway.
Once that phase of works with greater impact is over, the airline has indicated that it will resume its usual schedule and will operate the five weekly frequencies on this route again.
Plus Ultra launched this connection at the end of June with two weekly flights, which were increased to five from July thanks to the good market response and the increase in demand. The route is operated with Airbus A330 aircraft, with a capacity for nearly 300 passengers, distributed in economy and business class.
The debut of this link with Argentina coincided with the celebration of the centenary of the flight of the seaplane Plus Ultra that, in 1926, first connected Spain and South America and whose legacy inspires the current name of the airline.
In the words of the company, the route represents a milestone framed in its growth plan, as it confirms its ability to compete successfully in "one of the most demanding and strategic markets of air transport between Europe and Latin America."
