The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and also Government spokesperson, Elma Saiz, has highlighted this Wednesday the "historic" rebound in employment achieved in August, while emphasizing the favorable effect that the extraordinary process of regularization of foreign individuals is having on the labor market.

In her analysis of the affiliation figures corresponding to the eighth month of the year, the head of Social Security has pointed out that "August leaves us with a historic employment growth with data that is very important. The first, almost 680,000 more affiliates to Social Security than a year ago and with an annual growth rate of more than 3%."

Next, Saiz has emphasized that this sustained evolution "places Spain in the vicinity of 22.3 million affiliates both in average terms and seasonally adjusted," thus consolidating an unprecedented volume of employment.

The minister has also stressed that the seasonally adjusted series has accumulated "more than five and a half years adding affiliates month by month," a period in which the Social Security system has maintained an uninterrupted growth path.

In reference to the most recent behavior, Saiz has recalled that "This last month, in fact, we have added 83,000 affiliates," referring to the increase of 83,844 contributors in seasonally adjusted terms.

Impact of the extraordinary regularization

Within this context, the head of Inclusion has focused on the contribution of workers incorporated thanks to the extraordinary process of regularization of foreigners, which by the end of August approached 340,000 affiliates in the system.

In this sense, she has emphasized that "Moreover, there is a data that is especially relevant. There are almost 340,000 affiliates in the system who come from the extraordinary process of regularization of foreign individuals. As we already anticipated, that process is being very positive for employment in Spain."

To conclude, Elma Saiz has reiterated the Government's determination to strengthen this dynamic in the labor market and has assured that "We continue to work day by day so that anyone who wants to work finds a job in a labor market that is increasingly robust and of better quality."
