The president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has held the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, responsible for "stirring up fear" with the aim of preventing discussion of "the countless scandals" that, in his opinion, the Government drags along or the absence of responses to the "problems of the Spaniards."
During an event on the anniversary of the newspaper Vozpópuli, Feijóo stated that it is "obvious" that the Executive "no longer has room to offer anything good to our country" after two consecutive terms and that its "only plan" is to "continue with the spectacle and stir up fear" resorting to "lies and manipulation."
According to the leader of the PP, Sánchez maintains this "spectacle" because he trusts that, "with a little luck, maybe the judges will stop acting" or "people stop talking about the countless scandals of this legislature," about the "17 corruption cases" or the "invasion" of Ceuta with thousands of citizens from "a country like Morocco."
Feijóo added that a Government that has set aside the concerns of citizens and "has created many" "does not seem to be equipped to solve any." For this reason, he urged that "no one should be intimidated" by the "fear of change."
"In my opinion, the Government that is crumbling today in Spain seeks something: impunity," concluded the 'popular' leader in his speech.
