Sánchez kicks off in 'La Revuelta' his round of interviews for the 29N and recovers the media strategy of the 23J

The president of the Government will be the first candidate to attend David Broncano's program, who has also invited the rest of the candidates. The PSOE confirms to Demócrata that it accepts a face-to-face on November 16 and a four-way debate on RTVE on the 26th, following the model of the general elections of 2023.

Elecciones generales del 29 de noviembre · Demócrata

Pedro Sánchez bets again on television studios in the race towards the general elections. The president of the Government will inaugurate this Thursday his round of interviews for November 29 with a visit to 'La Revuelta', the program of David Broncano on La 1 of RTVE. He will be the first candidate for the Presidency of the Government to participate in the space during this pre-campaign, recovering a strategy of media exposure that he already deployed in the elections of July 23, 2023.

The appointment is scheduled for tonight, starting at 21:45 hours. Broncano announced the presence of the socialist leader after having extended an invitation to the main candidates for the Moncloa. Ada Colau, candidate of Frente Amplio, has also publicly accepted the proposal, although it has not yet been specified when she will attend the program.

The choice of an entertainment space as the first stop recalls the 2023 campaign, when Sánchez alternated traditional interviews with humor programs and podcasts aimed at younger audiences. That round included conversations with journalists and presenters from networks that had been critical of his management.

The television strategy also coincides with the negotiations regarding the electoral debates. According to sources from the PSOE to DEMÓCRATA, the socialists want to repeat the scheme of 23J, a face-to-face between the main candidates organized by private media and a four-way debate on RTVE.

From 23J to 29N: the precedent of Pablo Motos and Ana Rosa Quintana

The campaign for the general elections of July 2023 left an intense media agenda for the president of the Government. After calling for early elections following the municipal and regional results of May 28, Sánchez multiplied his interventions on television and radio to defend his management and confront his proposals with those of the opposition.

On June 27, he visited 'El Hormiguero', by Pablo Motos, on Antena 3, after seven years without attending the program. The conversation addressed the electoral advance, parliamentary agreements, and some of the most controversial decisions of his Executive.

A week later, on July 4, he sat in front of Ana Rosa Quintana on Telecinco, in an interview focused on issues such as the economy, housing, territorial politics, and possible agreements after the elections.

He also appeared on 'Espejo Público', with Susanna Griso; 'Más de uno', with Carlos Alsina; 'Lo de Évole', with Jordi Évole, and 'El Intermedio', with El Gran Wyoming and Sandra Sabatés. These interventions were joined by interviews on Cadena SER and Radio Nacional de España.

The succession of appearances allowed the socialist candidate to intervene in spaces with different audiences and profiles. The 2023 campaign turned television interviews into one of Sánchez's main communication tools, beyond rallies and electoral debates.

From 'La Pija y la Quinqui' to David Broncano

One of the most commented interviews of that campaign was his participation in 'La Pija y la Quinqui', the podcast presented by Carlos Peguer and Mariang Maturana. Sánchez talked about his musical tastes, his personal habits, and everyday matters, in a format very different from conventional political interviews.

He also participated in 'Hora Veintipico', the humor space of Cadena SER, expanding his presence to programs whose usual content does not revolve exclusively around institutional news.

Three years later, 'La Revuelta' offers a similar scenario. Broncano's program combines interviews, improvisation, and humor, with a less structured conversation than that of traditional news spaces.

The visit will not be Sánchez's first contact with the program either. In October 2025, he participated through a video and a letter addressed to the teacher of one of the daughters of collaborator Jorge Ponce, after a request made in a joking tone.

Now he will attend in person as a candidate for reelection. The interview opens a new round of media appearances in the midst of the pre-campaign, when the parties finalize their candidacies and prepare for the main televised meetings.

PSOE accepts a face-to-face on November 16 and a four-way debate on RTVE on the 26th

In parallel to Sánchez's visit to 'La Revuelta', PSOE has confirmed to Demócrata its willingness to participate in two electoral debates during the 29N campaign. The party accepts RTVE's invitation to hold a four-way debate on Thursday, November 26, and proposes a face-to-face organized by private media for Monday, November 16.

The socialists defend that both meetings must be held and propose to repeat the scheme of the general elections of July 2023, when Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo participated in a face-to-face organized by Atresmedia, while RTVE brought together four representatives of the main candidacies, although without the presence of the leader of the PP.

According to the socialist sources consulted by this newspaper, the party will not choose or veto any private media group, but proposes that the interested companies reach an agreement to organize the face-to-face and distribute their signal openly to all channels.

The PSOE also rejects any exclusion of public television. "We are not going to allow, under any circumstances, the veto of public television," the sources from Ferraz state, who claim the public service function of RTVE and its role in organizing electoral debates.

The party recalls that Sánchez participated in the two meetings held in 2023, while Feijóo attended the face-to-face of Antena 3, but refused to attend the RTVE debate with four candidates. The socialists use that precedent to argue that the main candidates must confront their proposals before the citizens.

The dates of November 16 and 26 are thus accepted by the PSOE, although the celebration and the final format of the meetings will depend on the agreements between the organizers and the other candidacies.
