The first vice president of the General Council of Nursing (CGE) highlighted this Wednesday before Queen Letizia the "indignant ratio" of nursing professionals that Spain has, emphasizing at the same time that "healing is essential, but caring is too."
During her speech at the II Tribute to Nursing, organized by the newspaper 'La Razón', she insisted that "health systems cannot be built on a partial vision, nor with the predominance of a single professional group, since this is not built by subordinating some professions to others, but by integrating all their talent."
The event, focused on mental health, was attended by Queen Letizia at the opening. At the inaugural table, Natalia Rodríguez recalled that "talking about mental health is talking about suffering, but also about accompaniment" and emphasized that taking care of mental health "is essential" to enjoy good physical health.
From the CGE, they have conveyed their recognition to Queen Letizia for supporting this day with her presence. "For us, that Her Majesty has wanted to accompany us on such an important day is fundamental to give visibility and put in focus a pandemic that is often silent and increasingly affects more people," Rodríguez pointed out.
Throughout the meeting, the representatives of the organization presented to the queen the main challenges of the nursing profession to sustain a robust and quality healthcare system, and took the opportunity to involve her in the campaign "Ask your nurse," gifting her with an exclusive detail screen-printed with the cartoons of the illustrator '72 kilos'.
