Two men of Turkish nationality have been arrested this Monday in German territory for their alleged involvement in the fire of a Starlink station located in eastern Poland that serves Ukraine. The incident, which occurred at the end of September, is being investigated by the authorities in Warsaw as a possible act of sabotage related to Russia.

The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, has communicated on his social media that "the German police have detained two Turkish citizens suspected of having set fire to a Starlink station in Mazovia," an operation carried out "at the request of the Polish authorities."

"This is a new act of hybrid warfare. The authors of the sabotage will answer before Polish justice," he added, hinting that the extradition of the suspects could occur imminently.

The fire broke out on September 24 in the Starlink facilities located in the town of Wola Krobowska, in the eastern region of the country, about 40 kilometers from the capital, Warsaw.

Starlink, managed by SpaceX, the company of billionaire Elon Musk, plays an essential role in hospitals, educational centers, and other civil institutions in Ukraine, where Russian attacks have largely destroyed the traditional telecommunications infrastructure. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also rely intensively on these satellite terminals to ensure their communications.
