The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has submitted a formal protest this Friday to the chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Minsk over the drone attack against a truck with Belarusian plates in the Russian region of Bryansk, an incident that Minsk considers an "intentional" attack.
The spokesperson for the Ministry, Ruslan Varankov, has pointed out that "the identity of the vehicle was obvious, and the Belarusian side has reasons to believe that the attack was intentional."
Likewise, Varankov has indicated that "the Ukrainian side has been warned not to repeat such actions. It has been emphasized that the responsibility for its consequences lies entirely with the Ukrainian authorities," according to statements released by the Belta agency.
In this regard, he has stressed that Belarus "reserves the right to take appropriate response measures," after explaining that an official protest note was delivered to the Ukrainian diplomatic representative. "The Belarusian side requested the end of provocations that lead to escalation," the spokesperson concluded.
