The Minister of National Security of Israel, the far-right Itamar Ben Gvir, has reiterated that he "dreams" of "dismantling the Palestinian Authority" that controls the West Bank and of "completely conquering" the Gaza Strip. In this territory, he has insisted on his intention to "return to intense fighting" and "encourage the emigration" of the Gazan population.

"I have dreams: dreams of dismantling the Palestinian Authority, a terrorist entity that supports, promotes, and instigates terror. I dream of conquering --or rather, liberating-- the entire Gaza Strip," stated the Security head of Benjamin Netanyahu's Executive during a campaign event.

Although he has mentioned the Palestinian Authority, Ben Gvir has focused his speech mainly on Gaza, arguing that "everything" in the enclave belongs to Israel. In this line, he has reiterated his goal of "encouraging emigration" and "conquering the entire Gaza Strip."

"We need to return to intense fighting," he emphasized, arguing that "from a practical point of view, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are capable of doing so in a matter of weeks."

The minister's words are not isolated. Last month he presented a plan to relocate 1.86 million Palestinians outside the Gaza Strip within seven years, as part of the electoral program of his party, Otzma Yehudit, with which he is running in the elections scheduled for October 27.

About two weeks before that initiative, in August, Ben Gvir defended the establishment of a daily quota of "between 30 and 40 killings" of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip; operations that he defined as "selective" and for which he considered it unnecessary to determine whether the targeted individuals pose a direct threat or not.

Against the vision of the far-right minister, Israeli forces have maintained their attacks on the Palestinian enclave even after the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025. Since then, at least 1,488 Palestinians have lost their lives and another 5,281 have been injured. Since the attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other factions on October 7, 2023, the Israeli offensive has already caused 74,377 deaths and 175,398 injuries, according to figures published this Sunday by the Gazan Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas.
