A 22-year-old woman has lost her life and five other people have been injured early this morning in northern Switzerland due to a shooting that occurred in the town of Aarau, whose author remains at large for the moment, according to the Police's communication through their social networks.
The injured are four men and one woman aged between 24 and 27, all of whom have been transferred to different hospitals with prognoses ranging from mild to serious, according to the information provided by the Aarau Police. The possible motives for the attack, as well as "the exact circumstances of the criminal act" are still "not very clear".
The incident took place during a party that was being held near a horse racing track when the shots began around 03:00 in the morning (time in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands).
The cantonal Police of Aargau has cordoned off the entire perimeter, including the grounds adjacent to the track, among them a swimming pool and a sports field. Those affected who did not require hospitalization have been accommodated overnight in a nearby gym.
