A cargo plane Boeing 767-300 operated by the company 21 Air for Amazon has been involved in a fire this Sunday after leaving the runway of Miami International Airport during the landing maneuver.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA, for its initials in English), flight 7598 deviated from the runway around 14:00 hours (20:00 hours in mainland Spain). The aircraft had taken off from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
"The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for more information," concludes the statement released by the agency on social media. Following the incident, airport activity has been interrupted.
The Miami-Dade Fire Department has indicated that the plane has collided with "several vehicles" and images and videos are circulating on social media showing the aircraft crossing Northwest 67th Avenue.
Emergency teams are already working on extinguishing the flames, for which around 60 fire units have been deployed.
