The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed this Saturday that the United States has carried out an attack against three Iranian-owned tankers and announced a retaliation directed against six vessels, including three tankers and three other ships related to American interests.
In an official statement, the Iranian force noted that "The Navy of the Revolutionary Guard (...) has attacked three tankers that were crossing the Strait of Hormuz without authorization and three ships linked to the child-killer of the United States in other areas."
The text disseminated by the Revolutionary Guard details that, on Saturday morning, the American "terrorists" attacked three tankers from Iran in "a brutal act born of desperation" and admits the existence of "damage" to the affected vessels.
Furthermore, the statement issues a "strong warning" to all ships navigating the Persian Gulf and in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz: "Do not be deceived by the American terrorist army and avoid any suspicious movement to cross unauthorized routes or you will be attacked."
The spokesman for the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard, Alí Mohammadi, noted that in the last ten days the Iranian naval force has "punished" and "fined" each night between two and five ships, even engaging in combat with those vessels that refused to comply with the received instructions.
As Mohammadi emphasized, "The attacks from the United States have not caused even the slightest problem for the dominance of the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard and the control of this region," insisting that Iran maintains control of the strategic area of the Strait of Hormuz.
