The Israeli Army issued an evacuation order early this Monday for several areas of the municipality of Deir el Zahrani, in southern Lebanon, considering that in that area there is a facility linked to the Shiite militia party Hezbollah that plans to attack.
The Arabic spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Ella Waweya, has disseminated the notice through social media, addressing the neighbors of the area indicated on a map released by the Army itself.
"We urge all residents who are in the building marked in red on the attached map and in the neighboring buildings to evacuate: you are near a facility belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah against which the Defense Army will act," announced the Arabic spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Ella Waweya, in a message on social media.
Waweya emphasized that the Israeli Armed Forces assure they do not want to "cause any harm" to the inhabitants of the buildings affected by the order, and explained that the decision responds to what they describe as a "flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement by the terrorist organization Hezbollah, following the launch of a drone loaded with explosives against the IDF."
"Hezbollah's terrorist activity forces the Defense Army to act decisively against it," she stated, warning the population called to evacuate that they must leave "immediately" the stipulated area and move away from it "at least 300 meters."
According to the latest balance from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in the south of the country last March, 4,362 people have died and 12,378 have been injured, in the context of attacks that continue despite the formally in effect ceasefire.
On June 26, Lebanon and Israel reached a preliminary agreement mediated by the United States that laid the foundations for a permanent ceasefire, with the commitment to restore full Lebanese sovereignty in the south of the country and the disarmament of Hezbollah.
However, since that date, the Israeli Army has continued its operations, especially in southern Lebanon, alleging the presence of Hezbollah infrastructures that, it claims, pose a direct threat to its forces.
