The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Mojtaba Jamenei, urged this Sunday to form a cohesive block in the Muslim world against the United States and Israel, with a message especially aimed at the countries of the Persian Gulf.

The war in Iran has generated strong tension between Tehran and its neighboring countries in the region, after the Islamic Republic has repeatedly attacked U.S. military installations located in the territories of Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, or Kuwait.

In his statement, released on the occasion of Islamic Unity Week, the umma, Jamenei attributed this climate of confrontation to the fragmentation strategy designed by Washington and Tel Aviv through initiatives like the Abraham Accords, aimed at normalization with Arab countries, which Tehran qualifies as a trap.

The ayatollah came to leadership after the death of his father and several relatives in a bombing recorded on February 28 against the ayatollahs' complex in Tehran, in the early stages of the war. He himself was injured in that attack and, since then, has not been seen in public events, fueling speculation about his delicate state of health, and limiting himself to intervening through written statements at specific moments.

In the message released this Sunday, Ayatollah Mojtaba Jamenei calls on the entire Islamic world to "reflect and analyze events more carefully" to understand that "every division ultimately benefits the enemy." In his view, a politically cohesive Islam would not have allowed either the Gaza war or the proliferation of U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf.

"If Muslims had been a single united hand, with the fist closed firmly, would the Palestinian nation have remained so defenseless and subjected to the oppression and crimes of the occupiers?" he asked.

"And if the nations and governments that settle on the shores of the Persian Gulf had firmly established their unity under the banner of Islam, would corrupt and unscrupulous scoundrels have dared to covet their lands and riches from thousands of kilometers away?" he added.

For this reason, Jamenei launches a "reiterated and emphatic exhortation to the rulers of Islamic countries, particularly those in the region of Western Asia and along the Persian Gulf, to know who their true enemy is, understand their intrigues and confront them" and detect that the United States and Israel seek to transform "all kinds of racial, cultural, social, economic, political, and geographical differences into a pretext to sow division among the Muslims of Iran and all other Islamic countries."

"The solution to the problems of the Islamic umma lies in maintaining unity, friendship, and cooperation in the pursuit of good and virtue. The criminal rulers of the United States and the illegitimate Zionist regime (Israel) are fierce enemies of this unity and friendship," concluded the Iranian supreme leader.
