Senator and former Argentine minister Patricia Bullrich came out this Wednesday in defense of the results of the elections in Brazil following the reelection of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, although she criticized the use of Justice "to eliminate the opposition" after the escape to the United States of former candidate Flávio Bolsonaro.

"People decide at the ballot box and their will is respected. That is the fundamental principle of any democracy," she stated on her social media, where she also underscored the "enormous opportunities for cooperation" that, in her view, exist between Brazil and Argentina despite the "deep political differences" between the Government of Javier Milei and Lula's.

The senator of La Libertad Avanza referred to Bolsonaro's departure from Brazil, investigated for alleged money laundering and for alleged irregular foreign financing of his campaign, and who this same Wednesday arrived in the city of Miami, in the state of Florida, together with his wife and daughters, after taking off from the Ecuadorian town of Guayaquil, after having previously passed through Argentine territory.

Bullrich valued that Flávio Bolsonaro "did an enormous election," in reference to his presidential candidacy in Brazil, and claimed that "democracy is not binary: the one who wins governs and the one who loses goes to jail".

In relation to the former candidate's escape, she denounced that "the use of a non-impartial Justice as an instrument to eliminate the opposition is a tool of power that can never be the path of a democracy".

According to Argentina's National Directorate of Migration (DNM), Flávio Bolsonaro crossed the Argentine border at 22.50 hours (local time) by land, through the Tancredo Neves International Bridge crossing, which links the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu with the Argentine town of Puerto Iguazú.

According to the information published by the newspaper "La Nación", Bolsonaro and his family were escorted by agents of the Airport Security Police from the border crossing to the runway of the airport in the province of Misiones, from where he boarded bound for Ecuador, the last stop before his arrival in Miami.
