The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced this Saturday the occupation of the localities of Loshakovo and Komissarovo, in the Kharkiv region, as well as Marievka and Gulevo, in Donetsk, and Zelena Dibrova, in Zaporizhia, as part of its military offensive in eastern Ukraine. The military department claims that its units are "advancing at a high pace in all directions."
The Ministry itself has detailed in a statement that "since the beginning of this year, more than 5,300 square kilometers and more than 220 localities have been liberated. Only in September, more than 670 square kilometers and 27 localities have come under Russian control."
According to this official note, the Seventh Group of the Russian Armed Forces leads the advance in the regions of Sumy and Kharkiv with the aim of "creating a security belt in the border areas." Since September 5, in this sector, 152 square kilometers and nine localities have been secured: Berezniki, Ozernoye, Dolgenkoye, Zarubinka, Cherniakov, Shirokoye, Shevchenkovo, Oljovatka, and Malaya Volchya.
On the Zaporizhia front, the Ministry emphasizes that "the offensive continues actively" and speaks of "advances" by the Vostok and Dnepr groups, which since early September have reportedly taken Chervonaya Krinitsa, Novopavlovka, Novoandreyevka, and Rozovka.
In parallel, the military governor of the Odesa region, Oleg Kiper, has reported a Russian attack on civilian infrastructure during the past night. According to his account, the bombing would have caused a fire in an administration building and damage to the roofs of several residential properties, in addition to affecting a school, a car, and a minibus, with no fatalities reported so far.
