The Minister of National Security of Israel, the far-right Itamar Ben Gvir, has proposed the implementation of selective executions of "between 30 and 40" Palestinians every night in the Gaza Strip, including people who "do not represent an immediate threat" because "they are not even people."
In an intervention on the podcast "October 8," hosted by the released former Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski and cited by the Israeli newspaper "Times of Israel," Ben Gvir reiterated his demand for a total occupation of the Gaza Strip and the expulsion of all its inhabitants, as part of the terror strategy he advocates.
"It seems to me that selective assassinations should be carried out in Gaza and take out between 30 and 40 (Gazans) every night. Not just those who represent an immediate threat," Ben Gvir stated, who on numerous occasions has openly advocated for the extermination of the Palestinian population.
"There are people there who do not deserve to live. They shouldn't live. They are not even people," he emphasized before reiterating that "all of Gaza belongs to Israel," beyond the former settlements of Gush Katif, evacuated two decades ago.
"Migration should be encouraged as much as possible. For terrorists, no emigration, nothing, just kill them one by one," Ben Gvir added, whose words have repeatedly provoked condemnation from a large part of the international community, including key allies of Israel like the United States.
Despite the constant controversy generated by his statements, Ben Gvir has not faced significant political consequences, given that his support is essential to keep the government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu afloat.
