James Talarico, Democratic representative in the House of Representatives and aspirant to the Texas Senate seat, figures as one of the references of the new progressive current of the Democratic Party and has placed himself at the head of the candidates who have raised the most money individually for this Tuesday's elections, in which Donald Trump is playing for the political balance in the final stretch of his term.

With 146 million dollars, close to 132 million euros, Talarico leads the ranking as the politician who has obtained the most resources for his "midterms" campaign, driven by the progressive wave that this 37-year-old pastor and American leader represents in Texas, known for his references to the most contentious biblical passages.

Of that total, 75 million come from small donors who have contributed less than 200 dollars, which shows the support enjoyed by the candidate among grassroots movements, according to the chain "CNN".

Behind Talarico is the Democratic candidate for the Senate for Georgia, Jon Ossoff, who has raised 136 million dollars, some 123 million euros, followed by Sherrod Brown, former senator who seeks to regain a seat for Ohio, with almost 70 million dollars, around 63 million euros.

On the Republican side, the amounts are notably lower and the list is led, strikingly, by the senator for Maine, Susan Collins, who is trying to renew her mandate by distancing herself from Trump. She has obtained 25.2 million dollars, some 22.5 million euros, ahead of Mike Rogers, Republican aspirant in Michigan who will face the also progressive Abdul El Sayed, with 23 million dollars, and of Talarico's rival in Texas and current state attorney general, Ken Paxton, who has raised 22.3 million dollars.
