The French movement of the 'yellow vests' has made public this Saturday a new call for massive mobilization against the Gallic Government due to the rising cost of living, set for next Saturday, October 31. It will be a "third act" of protests, following the marches held last weekend and those of this same day, again with President Emmanuel Macron as the main target of criticism.
The new date in the streets is called to denounce the "authoritarian drift" of the Executive. "We will demonstrate for the freedom to demonstrate and for all our freedoms," have stated the spokespeople of the collective Benjamin Ball and Azelma Sigaux in front of a café located in the Place de la Bastille, amidst the demonstration "against the high cost of living" and in support of the demands of high school students.
"There is anger in this country" that "is not heard," warns a statement released on Saturday by the 'yellow vests', in which the "contempt, the refusal to listen, the lies, and the repression" by the Government are also condemned.
The collective considers that "the government is trying to divide us." "By criminalizing our movement, it wants to prevent the united front that is emerging. Our response is unity," they emphasize before calling for the creation of "convergence assemblies throughout France" that include "high school students, university students, 'yellow vests', workers, farmers, retirees,...".
