At least three people have lost their lives and another 12 have been injured this Sunday in a new drone attack by the Russian Army against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, located in the southeast of the country, according to local authorities.

According to the regional governor, Oleksandr Ganzha, the impact of the drones triggered a fire on the fourth floor of a residential block, as well as in several vehicles parked nearby and in a store, where three people are reported to have died as a result of the attack.

Among the injured, three of them —two women and a middle-aged man— are in serious condition and are receiving medical attention at this moment, so it is not ruled out that the death toll may increase in the coming hours.

The Dnipro region, which borders the combat fronts of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson, suffers almost daily from the impact of drone attacks launched by Russian forces.

One of the most affected areas is the district of Synelnykove, which has become a regular scene of intense bombings and occasional ground incursions due to its proximity to areas occupied by Moscow, as reported by the authorities in Kyiv.

This new attack occurs alongside the intensification of Russian aerial offensives that began in October against Ukrainian energy infrastructure, as part of a sustained strategy aimed at collapsing the electricity supply ahead of winter. In response, Ukraine has also directed its latest attacks at this type of targets, a tactic that has been questioned in recent days by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

The last major mass attack was recorded on the night of October 21 and left thousands of homes without power in Synelnykove and in various points of the Dnipro region, after causing significant damage to the regional electrical grid.
