The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has downplayed the conjectures raised by his envoy for Syria, Tom Barrack, who this very Friday suggested the possibility of an attack against Iran in the next 48 hours.

Barrack, during an interview with political influencer Mario Nawfal, pointed out that he sees it perfectly plausible that the United States could strike Iran this very weekend.

"Of course it could happen. The president has made it very clear," said the also ambassador of the United States in Turkey. "We are talking about U.S. foreign policy," he added, before specifying that Trump remains "open to an agreement, and has been negotiating for months."

Trump, for his part, has implied that at this moment he does not wish to fuel this type of speculation, as he stated upon his arrival in Florida, where he continues with the campaign for the midterms. "If that's the case, I have no idea about that," he concluded.
