At least two civilians have lost their lives and four others have been injured after a new wave of drone attacks, attributed to Ukrainian forces, in an area of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, in the Donbas region and under Russian control, according to local authorities.
The regional governor, Leonid Pasechnik, explained that the driver of a truck died in the town of Belovodsk after a drone struck directly against the vehicle he was driving. In a similar incident, recorded on a stretch of the Novoaidar-Starobelsk road, another man has died and one more person has been injured while traveling on the road.
"I express my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased," Pasechnik stated in a message published on Telegram, where he also reported several attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against trucks in Stanichno Luhansk and Slavianoserbsk, which left two other men injured.
At the same time, the leader of Luhansk has denounced several attacks directed against facilities of the telecommunications company Lugacom and against an industrial complex in the region. According to the first available data, one person has been injured and there has been material damage to several homes.
The governor detailed that the server and switching equipment has been destroyed, which has caused incidents in mobile phone service and internet access in the area.
"Specialists are carrying out emergency repair work, which may take some time. I ask the residents of the republic to understand the consequences of this situation," Pasechnik added, who assured the deployment of all "necessary" services and emphasized that local authorities are already working on the "elimination of the consequences."
On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that, during the past night, its air defense systems intercepted 443 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of Ukrainian fixed-wing type over various regions of the country, including Moscow and the Republic of Crimea, as well as at several points in the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
