The United States Army reported this Monday that a military aircraft crashed on August 9 in Djibouti, near the Chabelley airfield, without any injuries or material damage resulting from the incident.
The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) detailed in a statement released on social media that the event, which occurred on Sunday the 9th, is being analyzed as part of an ongoing investigation to clarify what happened.
"The initial indications do not reveal evidence that the accident was due to external interference," the Command pointed out, also emphasizing that no casualties or material damage have been recorded following the impact of the aircraft.
On the same day, the United States Embassy in Djibouti had communicated the existence of an "incident" involving a U.S. military plane in the vicinity of the Chabelley airfield, without providing further details about the causes at that time.
