The co-spokesperson of Podemos, Pablo Fernández, stated this Monday that his party is at a "sideral" distance from the housing policy of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, understanding that in this area "absolutely nothing" has been done and that only "landlords, vulture funds, and large holders" have been favored.
The words of the 'purple' leader come after the president of the Government confirmed that he will resume conversations to advance a royal decree law with new measures in housing matters. This regulatory package was expected to be approved in the summer, but ultimately did not go ahead due to the rejection of several political forces, including Podemos.
With the intention to reactivate that decree known, Fernández has attacked the Executive, which he attributes a "nefarious, null, and lamentable" record in housing during the current legislature, reiterating that "the Government has done absolutely nothing."
In his statements, the co-spokesperson of Podemos has harshly questioned Pedro Sánchez's response regarding the housing situation, emphasizing that "the only thing he could say is that the government made a housing law," and demanding the head of the Executive to "be precise in his statements and in his manifestations."
Fernández has insisted that, in his opinion, in these years no effective actions have been implemented to address the housing crisis, which he has described as "the main black spot of this Government."
In coherence with this analysis, the leader concluded his intervention by emphasizing that the housing policy keeps Podemos distant from the Government "at a sideral distance," understanding that housing constitutes "a fundamental right" that must be protected from "the perspective of a worthy democracy."
