The president of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, expressed this Monday his regret that "many shops" have had to "board up their windows for fear" in the face of possible disturbances such as those recorded the previous week in cities like Barcelona or Bilbao, and he offered "peace" in the event of reaching the Palacio de la Moncloa.
Feijóo launched this message before the National Executive Committee of the PP, recalling that in recent days numerous establishments chose to reinforce their windows and security measures were increased after the warnings from 'Blocus' calling for sabotage during the Halloween night.
In parallel, the security forces and corps carried out different operations that ended with around a dozen arrests linked to 'Blocus' in Valencia, Bilbao, Málaga or Tenerife, before the event called by this movement on social networks to repeat sabotage and looting in shops on October 31.
"THERE IS GOING TO BE PEACE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THE VAST MAJORITY WANTS"
Before the PP leadership, Feijóo stressed that "this weekend many shops have boarded up their windows for fear". "Because of what could happen, because of what has been happening in many places in Spain. What kind of country are we becoming?", he asked.
In this line, he recalled that "from the left it has even been said that the streets must be set on fire because there will be no peace". "Well, I say the opposite: there is going to be peace because that is what the vast majority wants. We are going to live safely and the minority that wants to break coexistence is going to find the law. Always," he assured.
Feijóo described that a "livable" country is one "without fear in the street". "It is a country in which a young person can afford a flat, it is a country in which the salary lasts until the end of the month, it is a country in which the doctor sees you when you need it, it is a country in which getting on a train is not scary and in which if something fails someone steps forward," he emphasized.
In his view, that "is not a perfect country" but a "normal country", in which "one can live peacefully". "That is what has been lost over these eight years and that is what we are going to rebuild," he promised.
After defending that "seriousness is not a defect" but rather "a form of respect" and that "Spaniards, once and for all, deserve respect", Feijóo has maintained that Spain has not had in these last eight years "neither respect for the people nor respect for the nation". In his view, the objective is for the country to "function".
