The general secretary of the PSOE and president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will celebrate this Saturday, October 24, in Granada his second major pre-election rally in Andalusia, after the one that took place on the past 10th in Dos Hermanas (Sevilla), a municipality traditionally considered a stronghold of Andalusian socialism.

The event this Saturday in Granada is scheduled to start at 11:30 hours in the Federico García Lorca Room of the Congress Palace of the capital, according to details provided by the PSOE, which plans to broadcast this political meeting through its social networks.

At the rally, Pedro Sánchez will be accompanied by the deputy general secretary of the PSOE and general secretary of the PSOE of Andalusia, María Jesús Montero, as well as the general secretary of the PSOE of Granada and head of the list for the Senate for this province, Pedro Fernández, who will also speak.

María Jesús Montero already participated in the event that the socialist leader and candidate for re-election as president of the Government held in Dos Hermanas less than a week after announcing the electoral advance and the call for elections to the General Courts for November 29.

The general secretary of the PSOE of Andalusia has been insisting since the date of the elections was made public that Andalusia will be a "key piece" in these elections, as it is the community that contributes the most deputies to Congress —this time, up to a total of 60 out of the 350 that make up the Lower House—, and has reiterated her desire for Pedro Sánchez to participate "a lot" in events in Andalusia in the weeks leading up to the election date.

The president of the Government already had a prominent presence in the pre-campaign and campaign of the last Andalusian elections held on May 17, in which the PSOE-A, with María Jesús Montero as the candidate for the presidency of the Junta, positioned itself again as the second most voted force, but recorded the worst result in its history in seats in the Andalusian Parliament by ending up with 28, two less than in 2022, when the head of the list was Juan Espadas.

In that campaign, Pedro Sánchez shared four rallies with María Jesús Montero, held in Cártama (Málaga), La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz), Pulianas (Granada), and Sevilla, where both closed the campaign on May 15.

Previously, already in this year 2026, Sánchez had accompanied Montero in two pre-campaign events of the Andalusian elections held on two consecutive Sundays, on the 19th and 26th of April, in Gibraleón (Huelva) and in Córdoba, respectively.
