As he has emphasized, the Center "limited itself" to conveying the data "by message and brief phone call to the Cabinet of the Government Delegation in Ceuta and to the UCE-3 of the Civil Guard," but "did not issue any major alert to its chain of command of the Armed Forces, the National Police, or the Ministry of Defense," he pointed out in a message disseminated on the social network X.
Even so, he defended that the CNI's action was "understandable" with "the information that existed then" because "no one could anticipate the migration crisis that occurred on the 30th and 31st." "No competent agency did. Neither in Spain nor in the EU."
In his explanation, Sánchez indicated that "the CNI informed the Government Delegation in Ceuta that a call was circulating in two Facebook groups to enter the city irregularly during the week of the Throne Festival." However, for the head of the Executive, the presence of this campaign, which "was being monitored," "in no way constituted or could be interpreted as an indicator" of the subsequent migration crisis that was triggered, with the entry of 72,000 people into the autonomous city.
