The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will lead a videoconference meeting this Monday with several members of his ministerial team to analyze the situation in Ceuta following the recent massive influx of migrants.
The telematic meeting is scheduled for 09:00 hours and will include the participation of the first vice president and minister of Economy, Carlos Cuerpo; the minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares; the minister of Defense, Margarita Robles; the minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska; the minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres; the minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and the minister of Youth and Childhood, Sira Rego, according to the official agenda of Moncloa.
This will be the second occasion on which Sánchez calls his ministers via telematics to study the evolution in the autonomous city, where around 72,000 people entered massively between July 30 and 31, according to data released by the central Government.
The previous videoconference was held on August 7 and served, according to Moncloa, to take stock of the situation in Ceuta, review ongoing actions, and "implement new measures aimed at assisting the migrants who are still in the autonomous city and strengthening the security and well-being guarantees of the Ceuta population."
A week before that meeting, Sánchez traveled to Ceuta accompanied by Fernando Grande-Marlaska to learn on the ground about the Tarajal border and hold a meeting with the president of the city, Juan Jesús Vivas.
This Monday's meeting between Sánchez and his ministers also coincides with the in-person meeting that the government spokesperson minister, Elma Saiz, will have with Juan Jesús Vivas at the Palace of the Assembly of Ceuta, scheduled for 10:30 hours.
