The current spokesperson of the PP in the Balearic Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras, will finally be the one to lead the party's candidacy for the Senate for Mallorca, as reported this Friday by the newspaper "Última Hora" and confirmed to Europa Press by party sources.
In addition to serving as spokesperson in the Balearic Chamber in the current legislature, Sagreras holds the position of coordinator of the PP across the entire archipelago. Previously, he was mayor of Campos from 2011 to 2019 and, in his second term as a regional deputy, has taken on the spokesperson role of the parliamentary group.
The "popular" leader has expressed his gratitude for "the trust that Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Marga Prohens have placed in him to take on this responsibility. Likewise, he has assured that he faces this new stage "with great enthusiasm, responsibility, and a firm commitment to continue working for the citizens of Mallorca and the entire Balearic Islands," as indicated by the party in a statement.
In the same note, Sagreras emphasized that "Finally, Spain will decide its future on November 29. Finally, citizens will have a voice to bring change to our country and to once again place families, young people, and the self-employed at the center of policies, so that effort is rewarded and not the other way around, and to protect our borders," subsequently claiming "the project of order and common sense of Alberto Núñez Feijóo."
The Senate candidate has also stressed that the Balearic Islands aspire to be an active part of that change. As he pointed out, "We are going for it all," and he defended the need for the islands "to have a strong voice in national institutions and for the next Government of Spain to address the needs and particularities of the Balearic Islands."
To conclude, Sagreras has stated that "I take on this new challenge willing to defend the Islands from the territorial Chamber thinking solely and exclusively of the citizens of our islands."
