The official figure of migrant people who accessed Ceuta during the massive entry on July 30 remains set at 72,000 and has not experienced any variation.
Sources from the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory emphasize that the data remains the same, despite the words of Minister Ángel Víctor Torres in a statement in Ceuta this Monday, in which he mentioned 80,000 people.
From the Department, they clarify that the minister merely contextualized the magnitude of what happened on July 30, using the total population of the autonomous city as a reference. "The figure has not been raised in any case," they have insisted.
The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, had already set the figure for the massive entry at 72,000 people on Tuesday, August 4. As Torres reiterated this Monday, "within 24 to 48 hours, the majority returned."
