The PSOE deputies in the Assembly of Ceuta, Sebastián Guerrero and Melchor León, have intensified their reproaches to the central Government this Thursday for the management of the migratory crisis that the city has been experiencing since July 30, demanding that the Executive "show its face" and activate all available tools to face the situation.

León has assured in a press conference that "we are tired of some taking care of their narratives and of a Government, which is from my own party, that has not shown its face," staging alongside Guerrero their break with the official line of the PSOE and emphasizing that their priority must be the "defense of Ceuta." The parliamentarian has questioned the usefulness of the visits of the ministers dispatched to the autonomous city since the beginning of the crisis, which, in his opinion, have left "good intentions, but no solutions."

Ferraz keeps the file open on the deputies

The appearance occurs in a climate of growing internal tension in the Ceuta PSOE. León's criticisms of the Executive began last week on social media, after the Socialist Group in the Assembly agreed to renew the PSOE representatives on the boards of directors of the public companies of Ceuta without the prior endorsement of the party's leadership, a requirement that the socialist regulations establish as mandatory, according to the organization itself.

Guerrero has defended that the change in the boards responded to the need for the Parliamentary Group to have information about the activity of the municipal companies that, he said, was not reaching. He has rejected that there was an economic interest behind the maneuver and has reminded that "attending the boards is not paid."

The socialist executive in the autonomous city elevated the actions of the deputies to the federal bodies and Ferraz gave them a deadline until this Wednesday to "reverse" the dismissals made in half a dozen municipal companies, according to sources from the Ceuta PSOE indicated to Europa Press. The disciplinary procedure opened at the federal headquarters against both parliamentarians continues, although the PSOE of Ceuta insists that the warnings from the leadership are not related to the criticisms of the central Government for the migratory crisis and emphasizes that these are leaders already known for their critical profile with the current Executive, elected in 2025.

Reproaches to Feijóo, Mónica García, Marlaska and demands to the EU

León has claimed that the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, avoid traveling to Ceuta to carry out "partisan issues." He has also directed his criticisms at the Ministry of Health for the healthcare situation in the city, which, he has denounced, "leaves much to be desired," and has urged the Government to request the support that, he claims, the European Union offers.

"Europe offers, but Spain does not ask," has summarized the deputy, who has urged the Executive to "act now" and "accept all aid, wherever it comes from." The socialist leader has expressly pointed out the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, whom he has asked to fulfill the commitment to return to Morocco the migrants who entered irregularly in Ceuta on July 30 and 31. "If he does not comply, I ask him to resign from here, if he does not comply and if he does not stand up for the citizens," he has warned.

Seven requests to the Executive to face the crisis

Guerrero and León have detailed a package of seven demands directed at the central Government to address the migration crisis. Among them are the declaration of a state of alarm in Ceuta, the activation of a national interest emergency, the stable presence of Frontex at the border, and the establishment of a specific calendar for the repatriation of migrants.

They have also requested the installation of a field hospital, the reinforcement of the courts, and the creation of a monitoring committee within the Assembly of Ceuta. Guerrero has described the current situation of the city as "disordered, sad, depressed, and saturated" and has promised to turn the Socialist Parliamentary Group into a "transmission chain" of the demands of the citizens before the competent administrations.

Criticism of the Government of Juan Vivas and defense of his militancy

León has also attacked the Government of Juan Vivas for the management of unaccompanied foreign minors. "The main problem of minors being on the street is the Government of the PP, which is the one that has the competence," he has stated, directly blaming the local Executive.

Both deputies have emphasized that their reproaches to the government of Pedro Sánchez do not imply renouncing their socialist militancy. "We are proud to belong to the PSOE, but we would be hypocrites if we did not demand from the government, even if it is from our own party," León has emphasized, who has defended that he does not want any Ceutí to be able to accuse him of not having defended "the city and the people who have voted for us."
