Madrid seeks to maintain its perfect record at the Bernabéu
Real Madrid arrives at this eighth matchday with 15 points, five victories and two defeats, placing it in fourth position before all weekend matches are played. Its two setbacks have occurred away from home and, so far, it has won all its league matches at the Bernabéu: 4-1 against Real Sociedad, 4-0 against Málaga and 4-1 against Rayo Vallecano. That’s 12 goals in just three home matches.
The team also recovers important players after the international break. Fede Valverde and Konaté, who were carrying discomfort, have finally entered the squad. Raúl Asencio, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo continue to be out due to injury, while Éder Militao continues with his conditioning process. Kylian Mbappé, who also had physical problems during the break, is once again one of the main offensive references.
Villarreal arrives after two consecutive victories
Villarreal lands in Madrid with a better dynamic than shown at the start of the season. The yellow team has won its last two matches, first 1-3 against Málaga at La Rosaleda and then 3-1 against Levante at La Cerámica.
The Submarine adds up eight points, the result of two victories, two draws and three defeats, and occupies the ninth position before completing the matchday. The challenge will be to stop a Real Madrid that, despite its problems away from home, has been very solid so far in front of its fans.
