The Department of Rural Development, Livestock, Fishing, and Food of the Government of Cantabria has agreed to lift the extraordinary measures against bovine tuberculosis in San Vicente de la Barquera, after confirming positive results in the livestock sanitation campaign carried out during the first half of the year.

The data from this campaign, conducted between January and April 2026, reflect that currently there is no livestock farm affected by this disease in the municipal area of San Vicente de la Barquera.

With this situation, San Vicente de la Barquera is integrated into the so-called Surveillance Zone, which implies the carrying out of diagnostic tests for disease control, as stated by the City Council in a statement released this Friday.
