Grupo Fuertes has closed the purchase of Nutrave, an avian company dedicated to the supply and distribution of chicken and hen meat based in Bargas (Toledo), with the aim of consolidating its position in the poultry market, according to the company.

Nutrave is a meat company focused on the complete processing of birds, mainly focused on chicken, hen, and a wide range of processed products.

The Toledo-based firm stands out for taking control and comprehensive management of all production phases, from the manufacturing of its own feeds to the incubation and final processing of the birds.

With this integration, Grupo Fuertes "continues strengthening its presence in a strategic category for consumption and will allow it to continue guaranteeing control and traceability throughout its production chain."

This integration system represents for the company "one of the pillars to ensure the highest standards of quality, food safety, and animal welfare."

The three families that started Nutrave will remain in the shareholding and will accompany the Fuertes family in this transition stage. Likewise, Grupo Fuertes plans to maintain the entire workforce and leverage the knowledge and experience of the organization's human capital, following a management model similar to that applied in previous operations in the sector.

In recent months, important international groups have acquired chicken companies in Spain and, currently, three of the ten main national operators are controlled by foreign capital. In contrast to that dynamic, Grupo Fuertes' two acquisitions in 2026 "are an important counterbalance: they keep production in the hands of Spanish family-owned companies."

The operation is formalized a few months after Grupo Fuertes entered the chicken business by purchasing the family companies Tolvasa and Paasa, located in Albacete, in a strategic bet to continue growing within the poultry sector of chicken.
