The Albacete municipality of Ontur will host its Oil Fair between this Friday, the 16th, and the 18th of October, with the aim of highlighting the quality, flavor, and unique character of the extra virgin olive oil produced in the locality.

As detailed by the provincial Diputación in a press release, the Fair has been designed as a meeting space for producers, visitors, and food enthusiasts, where oil will share the stage with wine, crafts, music, and popular traditions.

In this way, this year's program will integrate gastronomic proposals, cultural initiatives, craft workshops, and various musical performances.

The activities will begin on Friday afternoon with the presentation of the award "La Oliva de Oro," an event in which the exhibition "Ontur Hu#Ellas," by María Dolores Muñoz Serrano, will also be inaugurated, and which will conclude with a musical performance of covers from the 80s and 90s in the Felipe Molina Rodríguez square.

Saturday will kick off with a guided tour of the urban area and the opening of the craft and agri-food market, which will remain operational throughout the weekend, accompanied by a parade by the Ontur Music Band and a demonstration of esparto work.

The day will also include children's workshops, a Wine Fair with wineries and associations from the area, live music, as well as a performance by the Manchego group "Orígenes de Albacete," a honey tasting with tapas and wine pairing, a classic bicycle gathering, and a popular dance enlivened by the orchestra Cuarto Nivel.

Sunday is reserved for new demonstrations of esparto and bobbin lace, as well as for a tasting of local oils aimed at appreciating the nuances and high quality of the production from Ontur.

The programming for the last day will be completed with a gathering of classic motorcycles, the musical proposal of "Maleza" during vermouth hour, a free inflatable fair for children, a pottery workshop, and the representation of a family theater play.
