The National Police intervened this Thursday in Yamaguchi Square in Pamplona against a group of protesters who opposed an event called by activist Vito Quiles.
Agents of the National Police, supported by the Foral Police, have cordoned off Yamaguchi Square, although the concentration has led to several moments of tension between the attendees of the activist's event and the people mobilized to show their rejection of his presence in the Navarre capital.
About a hundred supporters of Vito Quiles have arrived with banners that read "Fascist the one who silences you" and "Freedom of expression."
In front of them, another group of protesters displayed a banner with the slogan "Faxista. Alde hemendik" (Fascist. Out of here). Two people opposed to Vito Quiles managed to enter the square and shouted "Puta España" and "Gora Euskal Herria."
The tension has been rising until two people from both groups confronted each other, which prompted intervention forces of the National Police to charge against the sector protesting the event of Vito Quiles. From this group, stones and bottles were thrown at the agents.
