The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has released this Friday a new list of possible recipients of the aid aimed at alleviating the increase in diesel costs resulting from the crisis in the Middle East, totaling 9.9 million euros and directed to nearly 4,500 shipowners, owners of more than 4,800 fishing vessels.

As detailed by the Department headed by Luis Planas, this compensation covers the diesel used between May 1 and June 30, which corresponds to the second application period of this support line.

Although the subsidizable period extends until December 31, the Ministry opted to make payments in a staggered manner in shorter installments with the aim of "expediting its granting and allowing potential beneficiaries to continue with their activity," as stated in an official note.

Shipowners have a period of five days—from Tuesday, October 13, to Monday, October 19, both inclusive—to correct possible errors, provide their banking details, or, if they deem it appropriate, waive the aid. The list of potential beneficiaries can be consulted on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Additionally, the Department indicates that in the coming days it plans to make a new payment of aid corresponding to the first installment of this measure, which runs from March 22 to April 30, the main payment of which was made in August, for an additional amount of 3.2 million euros.
