The parliamentary group Adelante Andalucía has formalized this Tuesday, September 8, the registration of a bill with which it intends to "eliminate the compensation for housing and accommodation" that high-ranking officials of the regional administration enjoy.
The initiative proposes to amend Law 3/2005, of April 8, on incompatibilities and remuneration of high-ranking personnel of the administration of the Junta de Andalucía. This is stated in the text presented in the Andalusian Parliament by the spokesperson of the group, José Ignacio García, accompanied by other deputies from his party during a press conference.
According to details provided by Adelante Andalucía in an informative note, around "1.5 million euros of annual budget are allocated to these compensations," a "high figure" that, "however, does not consider the increase in the number of high-ranking officials that has occurred with the new coalition Government" of PP-A and Vox. This Executive "has raised the number of high-ranking officials to 314 in 2026, which means thirteen (13) more than in the previous legislature."
"Those who did not want payments turn out to be the Government with the most high-ranking officials in history, and these high-ranking officials have the privilege of having free houses," denounced the spokesperson of Adelante, José Ignacio García, while criticizing the current compensation system.
Furthermore, the Andalusian party warns that "the individual cap on compensations has been increasing since its creation in the year 2000, which implies a foreseeable growth in the coming years." Based on this data, they argue that "the annual budgetary savings as a consequence of the elimination of these aids could rise to 1.8 million euros."
Adelante Andalucía emphasizes the "relevance" of "eliminating this over-financing of political high-ranking officials considering the housing crisis that the working people are facing." In that line, the spokesperson has pointed out that, "while the Andalusians are suffering a brutal housing crisis --rent and mortgage payments are unaffordable, people are suffocating--, the high-ranking officials of PP and Vox, after very high salaries and allowances, have up to 2,000 euros a month for a free house."
"When help is given to a woman victim of macho violence, it is a little payment. When someone is receiving the Minimum Vital Income, it is a little payment. When someone receives a scholarship to study, it is a little payment. But the high-ranking officials of the PP and Vox, who earn up to 2,000 euros a month to have a free house, in addition to their salary and allowances, that is not a little payment, right? Well, gentlemen of Vox, gentlemen of the Popular Party, this little payment must be eliminated," stated José Ignacio García, contrasting social aid with compensation for high-ranking officials.
From Adelante, they insist that PP and Vox must express themselves in parliamentary sessions about this proposal. "They will have to vote in Parliament and the true face of Vox and the Popular Party will be seen," pointed out José Ignacio García, who added that "the attitude that Vox maintains, in his opinion, must end, 'always with a heavy hand with the weak and a velvet glove with the strong'."
"Adelante Andalucía does it the other way around: velvet glove and affection with the weak and a heavy hand with the shameless high-ranking officials who receive rental aid to have a free house," concluded the parliamentary spokesperson.
