Aitana has turned Barcelona into one of the great milestones of her career. The artist has sold out tickets for the four scheduled concerts at the Palau Sant Jordi on September 4, 5, 7, and 8, as part of her Cuarto Azul World Tour, a series of performances that will bring around 74,000 spectators to the Barcelona venue. The Palau itself officially confirms that all four dates are completely sold out.
This fact places Aitana in front of one of the great records in the recent history of Sant Jordi. U2 also filled the venue for four nights in October 2015, when they presented their Innocence + Experience Tour in Barcelona. The Irish band performed on October 5, 6, 9, and 10 in front of about 18,000 people per night, totaling around 72,000 spectators.
It is worth clarifying, therefore, the expression “four consecutive concerts”: neither Aitana's dates nor U2's take place over four consecutive days. The record is to chain four performances within the same series with all tickets sold, a feat achievable by very few artists. LOS40 also places Aitana as the first female artist to achieve this mark of four sold-out nights in this configuration at the Palau Sant Jordi.
74,000 people for the ‘Cuarto Azul’
The first of the four dates took place this Friday, September 4, and marked Aitana's return to Spanish stages after the summer break of her world tour. The singer presented a two-hour repertoire of 24 songs, combining tracks from Cuarto Azul with some of the biggest hits of her career.
The scale of the event is considerable. The four sellouts will total approximately 74,000 attendees, according to estimates published for the Sant Jordi series, a figure even slightly higher than the total associated with the four nights offered by U2 in 2015, although the capacities and stage configurations can vary from one tour to another and do not allow for a direct comparison solely by the number of spectators.
The artist's connection with Catalonia also had special prominence during the first night. Aitana, born in Sant Climent de Llobregat, performed in front of family and friends and received a flag from her hometown from the audience. The staging also included different references to stages of her life and a costume change with a pink design by Ze García.
Four nights in Barcelona and another four in Madrid
After the premiere on Friday, Aitana returns this Saturday, September 5, to the Sant Jordi. The third and fourth performances will take place on the days 7 and 8, also with all tickets sold out. The Puerto Rican GALE opens the concerts on the 4th and 5th, while Ganges will be the opening act on the 7th and Luzía will perform on the 8th.
Barcelona is just the first part of a concentration of eight major concerts in less than two weeks. After leaving Catalonia, the singer will move to Madrid to perform another four nights at the Movistar Arena, on the 11th, 12th, 14th, and 15th of September. Subsequently, she will close this Spanish stage with two concerts in Bilbao, on the 18th and 19th.
From Barcelona to America with her first world tour
The series at the Palau is part of the Cuarto Azul World Tour, Aitana's first world tour and one of the most ambitious projects of her career. After completing the Spanish dates, the tour will continue in October through America, with stops in cities in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and the United States, before returning to Europe and ending in Paris in February 2027.
The leap comes after several years of sustained growth and having already performed in some of the largest Spanish venues. The Palau Sant Jordi itself includes Aitana among the national names for which the venue represented one of its first major auditoriums, alongside artists like Rosalía, Lola Índigo, or Manuel Carrasco.
With all four nights completely sold out, Aitana now consolidates one of the most important records of her career at home. The comparison with U2 does not mean that she has surpassed all historical records of the Palau —artists like Joaquín Sabina, Alejandro Sanz, or Estopa have accumulated many more performances over the years—, but it does place her in the small group capable of concentrating four sold-out shows in the same concert series at the Sant Jordi.
