The number 2 court of the Civil and Instruction Section of the Instance Court of Motril (Granada), on duty, has decreed this Tuesday the provisional imprisonment, communicated and without bail for a man arrested as the presumed responsible for the death of another man that occurred last Sunday in the town of Carchuna, after confessing the facts to the National Police.

According to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) this Tuesday, the arrested individual is initially being investigated for a presumed crime of homicide. The instruction of the case will pass to the number 5 court of the Civil and Instruction Section of the Instance Court of Motril.

Investigation and chronology of the event

In relation to the case, the National Police explained that around one in the morning on Sunday, some agents were requested to go to a farmhouse located in Carchuna, where a homicide had supposedly occurred.

Once at the scene, the police took a statement from the requester, who stated that he had rented the farmhouse to several people and that one of them had confessed to him that, minutes before, he had killed one of the residents, subsequently leaving the property.

The agents located the victim outside the estate, without vital signs, with blood stains on the body and lying in a supine position.

Shortly after, medical services arrived at the location where the body lay, activating the corresponding protocol and later police judicial, scientific police, forensic doctor, funeral services, as well as the judge and the on-duty prosecutor arrived.

Close to five in the morning, a man was arrested who acknowledged being the author of the facts. He was a 52-year-old man of Moroccan nationality, who confessed that he had had an argument with the victim, also Moroccan and about 50 years old, and that, ultimately, he had killed him, showing the agents a knife that was presumably the weapon used in the homicide.

The arrested individual also carried a backpack in which the agents found a bag with approximately 30 grams of marijuana.

The Police specify that around six in the morning of that same day, the body was lifted and transferred by the funeral services to the Institute of Legal Medicine of Granada.
