The president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, has called on the citizens of the Balearic Islands to join the concentration called this Wednesday in support of Ceuta, while accusing the Government of Spain of "hiding information" regarding the massive entry of migrants into the autonomous city.
In a meeting with journalists during an event of the Real Mallorca Foundation, Prohens emphasized that the mobilization promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) "is not about political colors or ideologies," but about showing support and solidarity with the people of Ceuta.
According to the Balearic leader, "today there are more arguments than yesterday" to take to the streets, after the details of a report from the National Police were revealed, attributing responsibility for the massive entry of migrants in Ceuta to the Moroccan Security Forces and Bodies.
As Prohens has pointed out, "this information states that it was not a migratory issue, that it was an issue of attacking our borders and attacking the territorial integrity of Spain," which is why she believes that the concentration should serve to "respond to this invasion by Morocco to sovereignty and territorial integrity."
In this context, she has lashed out at the actions of the central Executive, which she holds responsible for "deceiving citizens for more than a month with a false narrative" and for "hiding information" about what happened at the Ceuta border.
In the same vein, she has warned that what happened in Ceuta "could happen in the rest of Spanish territory" because, as she has denounced, the Government "has decided that the borders do not need to be defended."
For this reason, she has demanded that the Executive "tell the truth" about the massive entry of migrants and clarify "why it has decided to exculpate Morocco before protecting Spaniards."
