The Commission for the Recovery of Historical Memory of A Coruña (CRMH) has again denounced the persistence of "opacity, legal non-compliance, and the real commitment to memory at the Pazo de Meirás," located in the municipality of Sada, both by the Xunta and the central Government.

In a note sent to the media, the association details that, after the publication in the Official State Bulletin (BOE) on August 14 of the resolution declaring the property as a Place of Memory, it registered a formal request with the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory to fully consult said file.

"Having passed the halfway point of the deadline for formalizing an appeal against the aforementioned resolution, the State continues to deny this association access to the administrative file, in a new episode of opacity and violation of rights," laments the entity, which interprets this situation as an unjustified denial of information.

At the same time, the CRMH demands "explanations" for the departure of movable goods from the Pazo de Meirás related to the period of Emilia Pardo Bazán and the Franco dictatorship, and calls for "immediate action" from the Xunta to comply with the obligations set by the Cultural Heritage Law, especially "regarding public visitation and the protection of the cultural interest property."

Furthermore, the Commission requests "transparency and commitment in defending the public interest" in the open procedure regarding the liquidation of the possession of the estate and urges the "updating and implementation" of the commissions contemplated in the Protocol of actions that the State "promoted and signed at the Pazo de Meirás more than six years ago," considering that its inactivity exacerbates the situation of uncertainty about the future of the pazo.
