The Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment continues to strengthen measures aimed at anticipating the demand for specialized personnel that the Logistics Base of the Army (BLET) and the business network linked to this strategic project will generate in the province of Córdoba, and has launched a new call for proposals endowed with 4.88 million euros for the training of 2,460 people.
The minister of the sector, Rocío Blanco, detailed during a visit to Córdoba this second call for the singular training project for the BLET, with a budget of 4.88 million euros, and also presented the new Information Point of the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE), conceived as a service that concentrates all data on employment and training linked to the Base.
At the event, where she was accompanied by the president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes; the sub-delegate of Defense in Córdoba, Infantry Colonel José María Ortega; the deputy mayor delegate for Finance, Economy and Employment of the City Council and president of the Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment of Córdoba (Imdeec), Blanca Torrent, and the delegate of the Junta in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina, Blanco reiterated the commitment of the Andalusian Executive to the preparation of the human capital that this project will require.
As the Andalusian head indicated, the implementation of the Logistics Base represents "a historic opportunity" for the city and the province, and from the beginning the regional government made it clear that "the lack of qualified professionals could not become a brake on the growth of companies that establish themselves in the province".
In this regard, she highlighted the joint work being carried out by the Junta de Andalucía, the City Council of Córdoba, the Provincial Council, the Ministry of Defense, and the Cordoban business community to anticipate employment and qualification needs, emphasizing that companies that choose to invest need foresight and coordinated action by the administrations.
One of the central pillars of this strategy is the new SAE Information Point on the Logistics Base, designed as a one-stop shop to offer citizens updated information on the most in-demand professional profiles, ongoing selection processes, the available course offerings, and support for the unemployed, facilitating their adaptation to new employment niches associated with the BLET.
In addition to individualized attention for those interested in these opportunities, this resource maintains continuous contact with companies and training entities in order to adjust training programs to the real needs of the labor market.
Located in the Edificio Los Ministerios, on Tomás de Aquino street, and with opening hours from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Rocío Blanco has specified that the purpose of this Information Point is to prevent citizens from having to go to different organizations to resolve the same issue, simplifying access to information and accompanying people throughout the process so that no one misses a job opportunity due to a lack of guidance.
Recovery of industrial employment in Córdoba
The president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Salvador Fuentes, has emphasized that economic convergence is based on "the creation of quality employment" and has pointed out that Andalusia has significantly reduced the gap in the unemployment rate compared to the Spanish average. In this context, he has assured that flagship projects such as the BLET are "driving the recovery of industrial employment in the province and opening new development opportunities."
Fuentes has highlighted the Ministry's commitment to anticipating the demands of the labor market through training, with the goal that both young people and those actively seeking employment can opt for the positions that the BLET and its auxiliary industry will generate. Likewise, he has recalled that Córdoba has 17,000 more industrial jobs than four years ago and has insisted that "the best investment we can make is in training, training, and training."
For her part, the deputy mayor, Blanca Torrent, has pointed out that "no one can solve a challenge of this magnitude alone. That is why the Imdeec has acted as a catalyst, uniting the demand from companies with the training response capacity of the Junta". "This new point on Tomás de Aquino street is an excellent example of institutional loyalty and how, when administrations collaborate fluidly and in a coordinated manner, the great beneficiaries are the citizens of Córdoba," she added.
In the same vein, the Deputy Delegate for Defense in Córdoba, José María Ortega, has highlighted the "close collaboration" between all administrations regarding the Logistics Base and has indicated that this SAE Information Point reinforces the information point that has been operating at the Subdelegation for a year. "We will be coordinated to advise anyone who is interested, so that they can participate in this job opportunity," he stated.
Second call for the singular training project
Along with this information service, the Ministry of Employment has launched the second call for the singular training project for the BLET, already published in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía.
This new edition has a budget of over 4.88 million euros and foresees the carrying out of 164 training actions that will qualify 2,460 people, both unemployed and employed, in specialties related to the profiles that the Logistics Base and its surrounding companies will require, such as Commerce and Marketing, Electricity and Electronics, Mechanical Manufacturing, Computing and Communications, Installation and Maintenance, and Vehicle Transport and Maintenance.
The call is structured into three lines. Line 1 will finance on-the-job training actions aimed primarily at unemployed people. Line 2, also for on-the-job training, is preferably aimed at employed people whose workplace is located in Andalusia. Finally, Line 3 will allow the offering of Grade C Vocational Training System courses aimed primarily at unemployed people.
In general, the courses will be taught in person in the province of Córdoba and will be designed to respond to the needs identified around the future Base and its business ecosystem. Of the total budget, 1,951,620.99 euros are reserved for the line aimed at unemployed people; 377,010 euros, for the line aimed at employed people; and 2,559,633.43 euros for Grade C aimed at unemployed people.
The grants may cover up to 100% of the cost of the training actions. Interested entities must submit their application through Profeus+A before July 24. Each entity may submit a single application per line, detailing the training actions it proposes to offer.
In conclusion, the counselor has emphasized that both the Information Point and this second call for the singular training project respond to the same anticipation policy, since "they are two complementary instruments so that the opportunities generated by the Logistics Base reach the people of Córdoba in the form of employment and professional qualification".
