Bitpanda Enterprise, the institutional infrastructure branch of the Austrian 'fintech', has closed a deal with Fibank (First Investment Bank) to incorporate investment in cryptocurrencies within the My Fibank app. With this move, the entity will become the first Bulgarian bank to integrate access to crypto assets directly into its mobile application.
The launch of the service is scheduled for early 2027 and will be supported by Bitpanda Enterprise's technology, allowing more than a million Fibank users to operate with digital assets alongside their traditional banking products and services.
"Together with Fibank, we are implementing this technology in Bulgaria, bringing cryptocurrencies closer to more than a million customers through a banking experience they already know and trust," commented Nadeem Ladki, global director of Bitpanda Enterprise.
For his part, Nikola Bakalov, CEO of Fibank, emphasized the rapid transformation of customers' financial habits, which is why he believes that the collaboration with Bitpanda represents a natural step in the evolution of the application as a digital platform from which users can easily access an increasingly wide range of financial solutions.
"For us, it is especially important that this new opportunity is implemented alongside a consolidated European technology partner and in compliance with applicable European regulations," he added.
