The Italian oil company Eni closed the first nine months of 2026 with a net profit attributed of 7.595 billion euros, which means tripling the earnings achieved in the same interval of the previous year, driven by the increase in crude prices. The company has announced that it will pay an extraordinary dividend of 0.46 euros per share on December 9.
Between July and September, the Italian energy company recorded a net profit attributed of 3.205 billion euros, thus quadrupling the result obtained in the third quarter of 2025.
In the accumulated until September, Eni's revenue amounted to 75.409 billion euros, 23% more than the income recorded a year earlier. In the third quarter, revenue advanced by 39%, reaching 28.072 billion euros.
"Eni's excellent results in the third quarter were driven by the strength of our operating model and disciplined investments in a well-diversified portfolio of advantageous assets," said Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni.
At the same time, the company has raised its forecast for underlying growth in oil and gas production in 2026 to a range of between 6% and 7%. Additionally, it expects adjusted operating cash flow to reach 16.5 billion euros and contemplates a gross capital investment (capex) of 7 billion euros.
In this way, the oil company considers that "2026 is shaping up to be a year of superior results" supported by favorable market dynamics, which will translate into outstanding profitability for its shareholders. In this context, Eni's board of directors has given the green light to an extraordinary dividend of 0.46 euros per share, equivalent to 1.3 billion euros in total, which will be paid on December 9, 2026.
In parallel, the company has ratified the ordinary dividend planned for 2026, set at 1.1 euros per share, which represents an increase of 5% compared to that corresponding to the 2025 fiscal year.
Likewise, Eni has decided to increase the volume of the share buyback program for 2026 by 12%, which will be set at 3.8 billion euros. Thus, the new amount of the buyback plan nearly triples the initial forecast, which was 1.5 billion euros.
