A total of 50,508 subscribers continue without electricity supply on the island of La Palma after the power outage recorded at 06:38 hours, according to sources from Endesa to Europa Press, who also detail that work has already begun to start the restoration of the system.

The company has still not specified the exact cause of the fault, although it points out that La Palma is being affected by electrical storms associated with an intense episode of rain that has led the Government of Canarias to decree the maximum alert and activate the emergency plan (Plateca).

Likewise, the Guinchos-Valle 66-kilovolt line, the island's only electric transport route and managed by Red Eléctrica, remains out of service due to an incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning, prior to the general blackout.

From REE, the system operator, they indicate that the restoration process on the island has already begun to recover the supply "in the shortest possible time" and they are waiting for the Los Guinchos power plant to reconnect to the system.
