Renfe is carrying out "adjustments and improvements" on the new Stadler trains intended for the Cercanías Madrid lines, within the "usual" process of entering service and fine-tuning this new rolling stock.
In a statement, the operator details that several compositions are conducting test runs and technical verifications with the aim of perfecting their performance and increasing their reliability. These actions "do not imply, in any case, the withdrawal of the trains from circulation," whose return to commercial service is expected in the coming days.
The railway company specifies that these tasks include software updates and adjustments in various systems of the train, including the braking signaling and the passenger information systems.
Furthermore, Renfe emphasizes that the initial presence of a limited number of units on the track is the "right moment" to conduct these tests and adapt the trains to the operational demands of the service.
Renfe is coordinating these improvements with the manufacturer, so they will be incorporated into both the units already in operation and the new trains that will be received "progressively" in the coming months.
The public operator stresses that the implementation of these trains remains within the planned schedule and represents a step forward in the modernization of Madrid's railway fleet. According to the company, the new trains provide greater performance, better accessibility, more comfort for users, and more efficient and sustainable travel.
