The Minister of Health and leader of Más Madrid, Mónica García, has defended that the left forces should not "start the house from the roof" when asked about the candidacy formalized last Saturday by the leader of Podemos, Irene Montero.
"No one is surplus, on the contrary, we need everyone but without starting the house from the roof," she pointed out this Tuesday in an interview on "Hora 25" of Cadena Ser reported by Europa Press, in which she called to postpone the discussion about "who leads or who does not lead" the left.
In this line, she has called to first set a "common course" to prevent the Popular Party and Vox from governing, through "a consensus of all political organizations" that have "territorial roots" and "representation in our different regional parliaments." "And from there we are building," she concluded.
García has emphasized that the formations that ran in 2023 have been "working for many months" with "respect" among the different parties and with the "delicacy" that "the moment requires." Therefore, she has urged to "row in the same direction" and "within the same brand."
In addition, she has reiterated that she is open to someone "outside her party" taking on the leadership of the space. "In the year 2023 we presented ourselves as a sum of acronyms and we have known how to build that this sum of acronyms is not only a sum of acronyms but that it is a real project, that it is palpable, that it is real, that it is fraternal, that it is lasting over time," she asserted.
