The camping sector in Spain has ended the summer of 2026 with an average occupancy rate nearing 90%, according to data released by the Spanish Federation of Campings (FEEC).
These figures corroborate the forecasts made at the beginning of the season, supported by a 10% increase in bookings made in advance compared to the previous year.
Regarding the different types of accommodation, bungalows recorded nearly full capacity during the months of July and August, with occupancy levels close to 100%.
At the same time, the plots designated for motorhomes, caravans, and tents were around 80% of their capacity, which evidences the strength of the demand from this type of traveler.
From the presidency of the FEEC, Ana Beriain emphasizes that these results reinforce the position of camping as one of the most sought-after vacation alternatives in the country.
"September is becoming an increasingly important month for our campings. The goal is to continue offering an attractive proposal throughout the year and to take advantage of the potential of our destinations to generate tourist activity in a more balanced way," concludes the president of the Spanish Federation of Campings.
Looking ahead to September, the employers' association maintains positive occupancy prospects, supported by the rise of nature tourism and the willingness to advance in the de-seasonalization of tourist activity.
