The Venezuelan opposition leader Henrique Capriles has claimed this Wednesday a "new Government" in Venezuela, after denouncing that the interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, is unable to stabilize the country's economy and that "devaluation and inflation continue unchecked."

"It is clear that Venezuela needs a new Government that stops managing the crisis and starts to improve the quality of life of Venezuelans," Capriles has stated in a message disseminated on social networks, where he argues that the economic decisions driven by Delcy Rodríguez are not serving to contain the crisis.

The also former presidential candidate, who faced Hugo Chavez in 2012 and Nicolás Maduro in 2013, has insisted that "there is not a single economic measure to stabilize the exchange rate and defend the income of the Venezuelan family. Pure propaganda in the media talking about a rebirth that no one perceives."

In this context, Capriles has demanded that immediate concrete actions be taken to mitigate "the blow" that the Venezuelan citizenry suffers, among them the elimination of certain taxes, a thorough review of the tax pressure, and "to talk again about salaries, pensions, and retirements."

Meanwhile, Caracas and the opposition continue participating in a dialogue process aimed at the "institutional reconstruction" of the country, with the goal of renewing the institutions and paving the way for eventual elections that conclude the transition opened after the departure of Nicolás Maduro, detained at the beginning of the year in a U.S. military operation at the Miraflores Palace.
