The Houthis of Yemen and the Saudi armed forces have engaged in new exchanges of fire in recent hours that have hit the surroundings of the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, as well as the Saudi regions of Asir —where one person has been injured— and Najran.

In Sana'a, the offensive has developed through a series of consecutive bombings that, for now, would not have caused casualties, according to the first assessment released by the unofficial agency of the Houthis, Saba. The most concerning impact has occurred near the Al Sabin Maternal-Child Hospital, as denounced by the Houthi Ministry of Health in a statement, which details that the attack took place at noon, during peak healthcare hours, and that the center has suffered "severe damage."

"Attacking hospitals and healthcare facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and deprives Yemenis of their fundamental right to safe medical care," it has denounced.

According to local sources indicated to the Yemeni portal South24, several of the projectiles have also hit the Presidential Palace in Sana'a, considered the main stronghold of Houthi power in the capital, under their control for more than a decade, since the current civil war began and the spiral of violence that continues to ravage the country.

The Yemeni government based in Aden, recognized as legitimate by the international community, has subsequently confirmed the "execution of an attack against legitimate vital military targets in the capital" with the support of its Saudi ally, without providing additional information about the operation for the moment.

In Saudi territory, the kingdom's Civil Defense service has reported via social media an attack against a mosque in Asir and another against a school in Najran, the latter leaving no casualties.

In parallel, forces aligned with the Aden Executive have communicated that in recent hours they managed to thwart an attempt by the Houthis to infiltrate the town of Jabal Han, located near the besieged city of Taiz.

The Houthis launched an offensive on September 3 in areas of the provinces of Taiz and Hodeida and, since then, have achieved significant territorial advances, including the capture of the city of Mocha and areas near the strategic Bab el Mandeb strait, which represents a severe setback for the internationally recognized authorities.
